Welcome. I am a Griot from Senegal. Born and raised up in Senegal in a familiy of musicians - Griots – music was always around me. When I moved to Germany, Berlin, in 2009 my life and my identity changed. My own music became even more important – a way for me to reflect, express and enjoy. I am playful with rhythm and melody and love to experiment between tradition and modern influences and create my own sound. Since founding the band "Daljaam" in 2017, we released three albums, "Yon-Wi", which means "the way", and "Jeeggoo", the step. My songs are about social topics in Senegal – spirituality, colonialism, education, mentally disability, envy. I am mainly singing in Wolof, my mother tongue.
